A tanz JUNG! production by Alessandro Schiattarella / ages 6 and up

A world in pink, a life of bleak carelessness and ever-burning sun, identical bodies everywhere and doll-like relationships. But suddenly a crack. Something is different. The world shifts and suddenly those who were previously only allowed to stand on the sidelines, who were not seen, heard or even discarded, take centre stage. Together they discover their Supernormal Superpower. Will they manage to change the world in pink, make it more colourful and, in the end, make the fringe, where they had to stand for so long, disappear completely?

In the play, the supporting roles of the world in pink become leading roles. Both humorous and thought-provoking, the dance piece explores questions of normativity, clear expectations and rigid ideals. The perceptions of one's own and other bodies and their position within a society are scrutinised. Who or what actually decides who is allowed to be part of this world, who is recognised and respected? What determines what is beautiful? And what does ‘being normal’ actually mean?
